UPDATE - 07/25/2010:
Our student Karly was presented with Juliet during a surprise party for Karly's 7th birthday. Karly has been helping Lori socialize and train Juliet since she arrived here for training on May 9, 2010. Karly is the only other person to have worked with and ridden Juliet besides Lori. Karly thought Juilet was adopted by someone else and that this would be the last time she would see her. To Karly's shock, Juilet was adopted by her parents for her! Karly was speechless for several minutes but once it sunk in, she was the happiest girl alive.  Who wouldn't be happy getting your first horse for your birthday? Juliet will remain here for boarding and training until her new family is ready to take her home.
A HUGE THANK YOU TO RUBY RANCH HORSE RESCUE FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE!
Please enjoy these pictures from Karly and Juliet's party:

06/25/2010:
An anonymous donor has sponsored Juliet's training through the first week of August 2010! Thank You! We are happy to have Juliet with us for a few more weeks.

TRAINING LEVEL: Green, undergoing training. Currently she is leading, lunging, accepting saddle and bridle, stands for mounting, stands while a rider sits on her back, walks and halts under saddle, is learning to turn under saddle, and completes obstacles under saddle. She can walk over wooden bridge, railroad ties, logs, PVC ground poles, tarp, and weave through cones while being led in-hand or under saddle. She loads and unloads in and out of a stock trailer very well. Juliet prefers to be at liberty in her pen for grooming, hoof cleaning, tacking up, etc. but will stand tied using a safety product called The Clip.

TRAINING EQUIPMENT: Nylon halter and lead, The Clip, nylon lunge cavesson with top ring, dressage whip, lunge whip, 12 foot training lead, 30 foot nylon lunge line, Wintec 500 AP Saddle with CAIR panels and red gullet or Bates Isabell Dressage Saddle with red gullet, snaffle bridle without noseband. Juliet is doing GREAT! You can see her progress by reading her detailed acitivty log!

Juliet is friendly and loves attention from people. She is seen in the pictures above in her turnout area. She enjoys romping and playing outside and having space to run in. She will need to go to a home that has plenty of turnout space for her.  Being able to do as she pleases when at liberty will keep her mentally happy and content. Freedom to run and play will also keep her physically fit and give her a chance to expend her energy. Juliet will be a calm, content, and enjoyable horse to work wtih and ride if she is free to roam and run at least 12 hours or more each day.  24 hour turnout with a walk in shelter is ideal most of the time, but a fully enclosed barn or stall may be necessary in severe weather. Juliet's new home will have to have at least one other horse. Horses are herd animals by nature and she will need a companion. Juliet loves other horses and will become distressed if she were in a home alone. For more information on adoption criteria for their horses contact Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue or visit their website.
