a 501(c)(3) non-profit horse sanctuary!
We are in need of financial help to house, feed, and provide veterinary, dental, and farrier services for the horses in our care. We also provide transport and foster care for rescued canines and care for several stray felines. We are happy to accept donations for the cats and dogs in our care as well. Our priority throughout 2016 has been a barn and loafing sheds. We have 9 horses on property with no shelter. BECAUSE OF YOU we met our grant challenge to raise $10,500 by December 31, 2016. This grant in addition to all individual donations are going 100% to shelters. We have signed a contract and paid a deposit on 6 loafing sheds to be built!
We can't thank everyone enough for all the donations and for spreading the word!
Spirit Keeper Equine Sanctuary has been awarded a $10,500 matching grant for Indy Give because we obtained enough individual donations between November 1 - December 31, 2016 to match that amount. We met our financial goal and our facilities goal of a barn and loafing sheds for our horses who are without shelter this winter is now becoming a reality!
The Sanctuary currently has houses 40 special needs/at-risk horses whose needs are being met because of the diligent efforts of the sanctuary caretakers, volunteers, and board of directors. These horses have behavioral, health, physical, and nutritional issues which limit their usefulness to the average horse person and which make them unlikely to be adopted to new homes through a Horse Rescue. These horses are loved and cared for in the Sanctuary where they will remain for the rest of their lives. Also at the ranch are 10 rescue horses Spirit Keeper Board members rescued and privately adopted.
Donate money, feed, hay, or other needed items to the Sanctuary. Ask about volunteering, or sponsoring a particular horse. More information can be found at:
