Illyria
RRHR Illyria Luna D

In July 2010 Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue was asked to assist a group of well-bred Russian Arabian horses in neglectful circumstances. This little filly, named Illlyria by Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue, was voluntarily relinquished to Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue because her owner could not properly care for her. We are told Illyria is a filly out of Sinnie by Pascal, although she is not registered.  We are told she was foaled on May 4, 2009. Illyria is bay with a beautiful blaze which complements her exquisite face. Although we are told she is one year old Illyria is half the size of two other fillies who are both younger than her, Trance and Libby. Besides her stunted growth, Illyria came to us suffering from other signs of malnutrition which included a bacterial skin infection, parasite infestation, and heart murmur. She was vet checked, attended to by our farrier, and rahabilitated back to health while in foster care here at Deseos Arabians. On November 9, 2010 Illyria's heart was rechecked and the murmur was gone. A fecal egg count on that same date was zero. Due to slight swelling in her rear pasterns her diet was changed to something lower in protein and there has been improvement. She is not lame and has formed relationships in her herd. She has become very affectionate, friendly with people and easy to handle. She picks up her feet willingly, halters and leads well, and engages enthusiastically with her herd and with people. Since Illyria was rescued in the year of the very rare lunar eclipse on winter solstice and we think she is something special, if we are able to obtain registration on her she will be officially known as RRHR Illyria Luna D. Adopted!

Illyria's progress up to the point of her adoption was recorded in an acitivity log which can be viewed by clicking ILLYRIA'S LOG.
