Lessons on the Trail I: Beginner Trail Clinic

This clinic was held on 19 June 2010 on the trails of the United States Air Force Academy. It was designed for people and/or horses who had never ridden outside of the arena before and who wanted to gain some experience out on the trail in a controlled setting. This was literally a day of riding lessons and horse training out on the trail. A total of 11 horse & rider teams  participated. Lori with her horse Sueñoled the lessons and Jim with his horse Copper assisted. The lessons included natural steps, a bridge, several water crossings, logs, hills, and a stone wall. The pace was kept at a walk and all the riders did a great job staying together and keeping their horses calm. We took our time and made the experience a positive one for both horses and riders. Pictures posting soon!
