Illyria Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue was recently asked to assist a group of well-bred Russian Arabian horses in neglectful circumstances. This little filly was voluntarily relinquished to Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue because her owner could not properly care for her. We are told Illyria is a yearling filly out of Sinnie by Pascal. Illyria is bay with a beautiful blaze which complements her exquisite face. Although we are told she is one year old Illyria is half the size of our 10 month old filly, Trance and our yearling filly, Libby. Besides her stunted growth, Illyria is currently suffering from other signs of malnutrition. She will be vet checked, attended to by our farrier, and rahabilitated back to health while in foster care here at Deseos Arabians. Anyone interested in visiting Illyria or obtaining more information about her can contact Lori Torrini at Deseos Arabians or Pat Miller at Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue. UPDATE 28 August 2010: Illyria is doing well. She enjoys daily turnout with two mares and two other yearlings. Her skin infection has cleared up and she as a beautiful coat. Illyria has lots of energy and is playful. She has a pushy personality and we are working on her manners. She is gaining weight and growing much needed muscle; we can still see her ribs and she is not growing taller yet. Her heart will be rechecked in November, we are hopeful that her heart murmur will resolve and she will gain both height and weight. Illyria is available for adoption to an approved home through Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue. There is a NO BREEDING stipulation on this filly and ALL horses adopted through Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue. Any adoption of Illyria would be as a companion horse or as a riding horse only when she is old enough, when her bones have fully matured at around 4-6 years of age, and provided her heart condition resolves. Illyria's progress while here will be recorded in an acitivity log which can be viewed by clicking ILLYRIA'S LOG.
