Deseos Arabians & Miniatures LLC - Classical Training for the Recreational Rider
About Us

Deseos Arabians & Miniatures began in 1996 with two horses and one instructor in Falcon, Colorado.  It has grown to 20 horses, 4 ponies, 11 miniature horses, 2 instructors, and guest clinicians and trainers.  We became an LLC in January of 2008 and are now located in Calhan, Colorado on 35 acres.

Originally our focus was on raising and training Arabian horses and teaching basic English riding lessons. Today we own and train various breeds which include:  Arabians and Arabian Crosses, Mustangs, Quarter Horses, American Miniature Horses, a Connemara Pony, a Chincoteague Pony, a Paint, and Mixed Breeds.  Our program includes Recreational Riding, Classical Equitation for the English and Western Rider, Starting the Untrained Horse, and Foundation Ground Work using Classical Training methods.  We do not use "gadgets" or auxiliary equipment on our horses.  We teach basic balanced seat equitation, riding through the use of seat and legs with light use of rein aids.

Our lessons focus on recreational riding and enjoyment of horses.
We teach basic horsemanship and horsekeeping skills.  Many of our students are learning to ride as a hobby, for exercise, for enjoyment on the trail, or just for fun!  We have students learning horse handling skills and horse care in anticipation of getting their own horses in the future.

We conduct the majority of our training at our ranch.  On occasion we will organize trail rides off-site, or take students to clinics, seminars, or schooling shows at an outside location. We will travel to your location to work with you and your horse for our regular rates plus a mileage charge.
